County Commissioners Approve 70-Acre Sports Complex

Commissioners in Travis county gave the nod to the Bee Creek Sports Complex, a 70-acre, $23.5-million project slated to be built in the western part of the county. The project at 4440 Bee Creek Rd. in Lakeway, TX, will include seven sports fields, batting cages, a meeting facility, playground, picnic area and trails. Plans also call for food trucks to provide concessions.

Funds for the project were approved by voters in November 2017. The county contracted Stantec Consulting Services Inc. to plan the complex. Though some concerns for the complex were raised concerning noise, lights and traffic, commissioner approval means Stantec can move on to the next phase, designing the project.
