CoreSite Seeks Data Center Incentives Through IL Program

CoreSite Realty Corporation said Monday it’s pursuing a final incentive agreement related to its new ground-up data center development in downtown Chicago. The Denver-based developer and operator is seeking tax incentives through the Illinois Data Centers Investment Program enacted last June.

“The Illinois Data Center Investment Act is a great economic development opportunity for Illinois to attract the IT industry and related data center investment,” said Erin Guthrie, acting director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. “In addition, the investment by CoreSite in Chicago is a great opportunity for CoreSite to leverage its connected-campus strategy.”

CoreSite is building its new data center facility, known as CH2, at 427 S. LaSalle St. CH2 is planned to be a 169,000-square-foot facility at full completion.

Among other requirements, the incentives program calls for spending at least $250 million over five years, and creating at least 20 full-time jobs.

Connect Industrial Midwest is coming to Rosemont, IL on March 4. For more information, or to register, click here.
