Continental Automotive to Develop 215K-SF Plant in New Braunfels

Continental Automotive, which manufactures and delivers various components and technologies for the automotive industry, announced it will develop a 215,000-square-foot facility in New Braunfels, TX. The $110-million plant, once completed, will manufacture products for advanced driver assistance systems. Construction on the facility is anticipated to begin in 2020, with production scheduled to launch in 2021.

While the release didn’t specify the exact location, a previous article indicated that the company had acquired 48 acres along Kohlenburg Road, near Interstate 35. The company’s powertrain division, operating under the name Vitesco Technologies, has operations in nearby Seguin, TX.

The New Braunfels facility is expected to retain 450 jobs in the state of Texas, and add more than 130 new positions to the city.
