Blue Cross Blue Shield Assn. Downsizes into Aon Center Space

Consulting Firm Opts for Aon Center, Doubling Its Office Footprint

The Aon Center is picking up a tenant from the roster of a property its ownership sold earlier this year. Slalom Consulting, now housed at Prudential Plaza, will more than double its current footprint when it relocates into 67,000 square feet at the Aon Center across the street. Owner 601W Companies traded Prudential Plaza to Sterling Bay this past spring.

Headquartered in Seattle, Slalom has grown its Chicago team by more than 200 over the past two years, and plans to hire 50 more in the next few months. The move to the Aon Center was meant to “update our home without moving out of the neighborhood,” Slalom’s Justin Odenbach told Crain’s Chicago Business.

The Slalom lease will bring the Aon Center’s occupancy to 91%, Crain’s reported. That’s higher than the 87% average for downtown office properties, according to CBRE data.
