Construction Takes Off on United Airlines’ $162M Center

United Airlines, the City of Houston and the Houston Airport System began construction on the airlines new United Technical Operations Center (UTOC) at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The $162 million development will add approximately 200,000 square feet of additional hangar capacity, as well as a new warehouse distribution center, technical services building and administrative offices.

The new UTOC is expected to be completed in late 2018, and will consolidate United’s Houston maintenance facilities. Additionally, the facility will accommodate widebody aircraft including the Boeing 767s, 777s and 787s, as well as the Airbus A350s. The expansion will also generate approximately 200 new jobs.
