Construction Commences on Plastic Bagging Distribution Center

Trammell Crow Co. and Artis REIT launched construction on a Class A, 519,224-square-foot, rail-served distribution facility for Plastic Bagging & Packaging Inc. The build-to-suit facility is on the Grand Parkway in Baytown, TX’s Cedar Port Industrial Park, east of Houston. Construction is scheduled for completion in summer 2019.

The facility, which is going north on land acquired by Artis REIT, will include 32-foot clear height, 60-foot speed bays, a 65-foot clear-height roof pop-up and 8,000 square feet of office space. The center will have a form, fill and seal production line that will process 70 tons of resin per hour.

The facility will be served by the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail services. Additionally, the new center will have 9,500 track feet of rail that will be developed and used by PBP to switch rail cars.
