Connect Expands with New Team and New Markets

Los Angeles-based Connect Media entered its fifth year of business by launching daily news coverage in four new markets and adding two new leaders. The latest markets include Seattle and the Pacific Northwest; Florida and The Gulf Coast; Atlanta and The Southeast; as well as Boston and New England. Connect now delivers nine daily CRE newsletters.

Cohen

Joining the team as the editor for the new Southeast markets is David Russell Cohen. He joins from France Media where he was the editor of Northeast Real Estate Business and associate editor of Student Housing Business. Cohen brings several years of commercial real estate reporting experience.

The second key addition is Ben Johnson, a commercial real estate industry veteran, who joins Connect as President. He will oversee the company’s editorial strategy and growth, as well as technology, marketing and Connect CREative. Johnson will report to Daniel Ceniceros (pictured above), who assumes the role of CEO.

Johnson

Johnson brings more than 30 years of CRE experience, including editor and publisher of National Real Estate Investor (NREI), editor of Shopping Center World and editor and publisher of Real Assets Advisor. During his distinguished career, he has served in senior marketing and editorial capacities with leading companies including Marcus & Millichap, Cole Real Estate Investments, Costar Group, American Airlines and most recently financial services firm AssetMark. He also authored a biography on billionaire investor Sam Zell.

Ceniceros says, “These exciting new additions to the Connect team demonstrate our commitment to delivering the most valuable and actionable information to our industry, and also allow us to continue providing the highest level of service for which we are known. I thank all of our readers, advertisers, sponsors, and supporters for their commitment and support over the last few years. We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 5th anniversary with you and are looking forward to serving you in the decades ahead!”
