Colliers: Austin Industrial Ends 2017 on a Positive Note

Though Austin’s industrial market had been struggling, the sector ended 2017 on a positive note. According to metrics from Colliers International’s Austin office, the Austin industrial market posted positive net absorption of 324,922 square feet in Q4 2017. Meanwhile, average rental rates were $10.70 per square foot (triple net), down from the $10.77 per square foot (triple net) in the previous quarter.

Colliers also noted that, in Q4 2017, 1.1 square feet was under construction, though no buildings delivered. Heritage Crossing, at 2300 Scarbrough Dr., is accounting for four of the new buildings under construction, and will deliver in Q2 2018. Looking forward, Colliers’ Kaitlin Holm indicated that at least 20 blocks of space will be filled by tenants in Q1 2019.
