City Issues RFP for Affordable Housing in SW Bronx
The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development released a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified development teams to submit plans to build 100% affordable housing on two sites in the Southwestern Bronx. Development of the two city-owned sites is part of the city’s Jerome Avenue Neighborhood Plan.
“Last year, we pledged to invest in the Jerome Avenue community, and this request for proposals gives us another opportunity to honor that commitment,” said HPD Commissioner Louise Carroll. “We look forward to reviewing submissions that meet the needs of those who know the neighborhood best– the local residents.”
Respondents may submit proposals for one or both sites. They include 1225 Gerard Ave., an approximately 26,000-square-foot surface parking lot; and 1640-1642 Anthony Ave., a 10,000 square-foot site comprised of two contiguous, city-owned vacant lots located across from Claremont Park. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
