City Hall Parking Lot Development OKd by Council

The El Paso City Council agreed to develop a 360-unit apartment and hotel project on what is now the parking lot of the El Paso City Hall in the CBD. El Paso can move forward to draft a pre-development agreement with developers Meyers Group Development and Two Sabes.  The combination high-rise would go north on 1.5 acres at Mills Avenue and Kansas Street.

The City of El Paso’s Monica Lombrana told the El Paso Times that it could take about six months for the preliminary agreement to be presented to the city council for approval. At that point, the city is expected to release an estimated cost for the project.

As it stands now, the project is anticipated to have 180 units, 180 hotel rooms, 35,000 square feet of street-level retail space and a 1,104-space parking garage. Meyers Group is no stranger to El Paso; the Miami, FL-based developer is currently renovating the Camino Real Hotel, which is also in downtown El Paso.
