City Council to Concho Resources: You Can Expand

Energy producer Concho Resources is doing so well, that its space at One Concho Center at 600 W. Illinois Ave. in Midland, TX, is becoming cramped. To alleviate the issue, Concho wants to build another office tower, west of Carrizo Street, also in Midland’s CBD. The Midland City Council gave its first approval on the expansion, which will be situated on 11.7 acres.

Another part of the expansion will involve closing an alley and a portion of two streets. A second reading of the expansion will take place at a future council meeting.

COG Realty, Concho’s real estate arm, owns a great deal of property throughout the Midland area, including its headquarters building and 100-102 S. Main St., which once housed the former First Bank of Midland.
