City Council Says OK to More Affordable Units

Connect is coming to Austin! Learn more here.

The Round Rock City Council unanimously approved an increase in units for Shadow Ridge Apartments, a proposed affordable housing complex at A.W. Grimes Boulevard and East Old Settlers Boulevard. The number of units will be increased from 265 to 325.

Developer Pedcor Investments LLC said one-bedroom units would be let for $800, two-bedrooms would be $980, and the three-bedroom apartments would lease for a little more than $1,100. Affordable units are available to individuals earning a certain reduced percentage of the average median area income.

The development, as currently zoned, could contain as many as 460 units. However, council members expressed concern at allowing that many units within the city.
