City Commits $11M Through INVEST South/West

Two development projects in the South Side’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood and the West Side’s North Lawndale neighborhood will receive a total of $11 million in grant funding through the city’s INVEST South/West program.

Both recipients, the “Auburn Gresham Healthy Lifestyle Hub” and the “North Lawndale Surgical and Ambulatory Care Center,” are among the finalist projects for the Chicago Prize, a program run by the Pritzker Traubert Foundation that will award $10 million to a community-led, investment-ready initiative.

The Lightfoot administration said the additional funding through INVEST S/W will help make these projects key anchor developments in critical INVEST S/W corridors, while serving as a framework for additional investment in these and other community areas.

“It is our hope that these developments serve as critical anchors to drive the inclusive, neighborhoods focused growth that my administration has been committed to from day one,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
