Citizens National Bank Closes on Union State Bank Buy

Citizens National Bank (CNB), headquartered in Henderson, TX, acquired the assets of Central Texas-based Union State Bank (USB) for an undisclosed price. The investment gives the northeast Texas-headquartered buyer a foothold in Williamson and Bell Counties, specifically in cities including Florence, Killeen, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, Harker Heights and Temple.

USB is a community bank with assets totaling more than $470 million. Combining the two banks takes CNB from $1.75 billion to approximately $2.2 billion in assets, and boosts its branch total from 28 to 36. CNB is reportedly planning to convert USB’s charger and operations under the Citizens National brand and operation later this year.
