CIBC Set to Open Bronzeville Banking Facility in 2019

As another marker of Bronzeville’s ongoing gentrification, CIBC plans to open its next U.S. Banking Center in this South Side neighborhood next year. The 3,500-square-foot facility will be built at the northwest corner of Pershing Road and Rhodes Avenue.

The full-service bank branch will offer a full suite of consumer and small business banking products provided by CIBC Bank USA. These include the bank’s EasyPath Banking solutions, designed for individuals and families in low- or moderate-income communities.

“CIBC is committed to helping individuals and families make smart financial decisions by providing education, access to financial experts and affordable banking products,” said Brant Ahrens, president, U.S. retail and digital banking, CIBC. “We will do all these things at our innovative Bronzeville Banking Center.”

With its U.S. headquarters in Chicago, Toronto-based CIBC has 20 branches across the Chicago metro area, and additional branches in Milwaukee, St. Louis and suburban Detroit.
