Census Bureau Ranks San Antonio as Second Fastest-Growing City

The U.S. Census Bureau ranked San Antonio as the second fastest-growing city in the country, having added an estimated 20,824 people between 2017-2018. Phoenix took the top spot, with an increase of 25,288. Meanwhile, north of San Antonio, New Braunfels came in as the second fastest-growing between 2017-2018, among cities with 50,000 or more people; population increased by 7.2% from the year before. In this category, once again, an Arizona city took top spot, with Buckeye, AZ experiencing an 8.5% increase, year over year.

Other Texas cities also experienced a surge in population growth, including Fort Worth (19,552), Austin (12,504); Frisco (10,884) and McKinney (9,888).
