CCIM President, Xceligent EVP, Wayne D’Amico Passes Away
Wayne D’Amico, a stalwart figure in the commercial real estate industry for well over two decades, has passed away. The former President of CCIM Institute, he most recently served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Relations at Xceligent, a role he held since May 2016.
A statement posted on Xceligent’s LinkedIn page stated, “We are deeply saddened to share with you that Wayne D’Amico passed away late Friday night after a brief, difficult battle with cancer. Those of us who knew Wayne keenly feel his loss.”
The company posting noted he “quickly became an integral part of Xceligent’s executive team, constantly pushing the group to work harder, better, and with more passion. Wayne’s dedication to the commercial real estate industry, and our company and its mission, was unsurpassed. He continued his work until the week before his passing.”
D’Amico began his career as a commercial broker in 1989. He continuously honed his skills and education, becoming a member of the CCIM Institute in the late 1990s. In 2002, he was elected to the CCIM Board of Directors. Nine years later, he served as CCIM’s first Vice President, and was subsequently elected CCIM President and Chairman in 2013.
Prior to Xceligent, D’Amico was engaged in diversified services since 1987, involving nearly a billion dollars of commercial and investment real estate projects. His focus was in the areas of strategic and valuation consulting, transactional brokerage and creative financing nationally.
The CCIM Foundation, the charitable arm of CCIM Institute, created the Wayne D’Amico Memorial Fund. CCIM Institute and the Foundation have contributed the initial $10,000 to start the fund, which will be used to provide financial assistance to his two sons for their college education. Donations made to this fund are tax deductible.
