CBRE Oversees Renovation of Library’s Fifth Avenue Hub

CBRE is providing project management and cost consultancy services for the renovation of the New York Public Library’s iconic Fifth Avenue hub, now known as the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. The project will upgrade and renovate the Schwarzman Building to prepare the historic library for the future.

The CBRE team consists of Frank Alvarado, Bret Keeney, Chris Lawson, Nicole Tirakian and Dan Magee. The library has engaged a design team led by Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo and architect of record, Beyer Blinder Belle. Tishman is construction manager.

CBRE’s assignment to oversee the Schwarzman Building project follows its management of interior and exterior renovations on the library’s 165,000-square-foot Mid-Manhattan branch across the street.

“We once again appreciate the trust that the library has placed on the CBRE project management and cost consulting teams to oversee the upgrade and expansion of their most visible structure,” said Matthew Van Buren, president, Northeast division.
