Caydon Begins Building $200M Residential Tower

Australia-based Caydon Property Group broke ground on its first project in the United States. The Midtown, at 2850 Fannin St. in Houston’s Midtown market, will be 27 stories tall, with 357 units, and is going north at a cost of $200 million.

Once the property is ready to deliver in 2019, it will be the tallest building in the Midtown area. The 1.2-acre site on which the multifamily property is being developed was once the site of the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County. The original building was torn down in January 2017.

The Midtown will offer a mix of studio apartments, as well as one and two-bedroom units. The project also has 12,000 square feet of ground-store retail, along with a 482-car garage.
