Catering Firm Great Performances Will Relocate to Mott Haven
Great Performances, the largest woman-owned catering and food service company in New York City, will relocate from Manhattan to the South Bronx. The company, which was displaced by Disney’s acquisition of its headquarters building in Hudson Square, will move into the Bruckner Building, a former warehouse in Mott Haven.
As part of the relocation, Great Performances will create 181 new jobs and retain 451 existing ones. The company will also invest $4.4 million in outfitting its 40,000-square-foot space to accommodate new kitchens, warehouse space, offices and a design studio.
“With its new headquarters, Great Performances will be able to expand operations, hire more staff and share its success with new neighbors in the South Bronx and beyond,” said Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “That’s a recipe for success.”
The state will provide an $880,000 grant to help fund the move, contingent on Great Performances investing in new machinery and adding jobs.
