Cannabis Retailer MedMen Builds Team with Former Forever 21, Apple Retail Exec
MedMen Enterprises Inc. expanded its leadership team with the addition of veteran retail leader Michael W. Kramer. He joins the fast-growing cannabis company as CFO with more than three decades of experience, including such retailers as Apple Inc., Abercrombie & Fitch, and Forever 21.
MedMen co-founder and CEO Adam Bierman says, “Michael’s extensive experience, and his success in scaling high-growth businesses will be instrumental as MedMen moves to operationalize the balance of our footprint. Today, we have the most talented and experienced leadership team in the industry to drive strategy, growth and competitive advantage.”
Kramer brings deep retail industry experience to the Culver City, CA-based company. Most recently, he served as CFO of Forever 21. During his career, he’s also held positions as COO of J.C. Penney, CEO and president of Kellwood Inc., EVP and CFO of Abercrombie & Fitch, and CFO of Apple Retail.
The cannabis retailer has been beefing up its leadership ranks recently, including adding COO Ben Cook, who brings global supply chain experience at brands such as Apple and Sam’s Club; CMO David H. Dancer, who brings more than 25 years of marketing experience at brands such as Teleflora, Charles Schwab, Visa and American Express; SVP of HR Clarence Foster, who adds 20 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive and consumer products at companies such as Nissan Motors and L’Oréal; and Chief digital officer Mike Lane, who came with two decades of experience designing and developing digital customer experiences at such brands as Live Nation, Ticketmaster, FOX Broadcasting and Adobe.
