California Buyer Snags Self-Storage Portfolio

Strategic Storage Trust IV, a public, non-traded real estate investment trust belonging to SmartStop Asset Management, acquired a six-property self-storage portfolio in the greater Houston area and College Station. The California REIT bought the 3,400-unit portfolio from Metro Mini Storage for an undisclosed amount. CBRE’s Nick Walker, John Fenoglio and Trevor Roberts represented the seller.

The following facilities traded in the sale:

  • 27236 U.S. 290, Cypress
  • 20535 W. Lake Houston Pkwy, Humble
  • 23250 Westheimer Pkwy., Katy
  • 3750 FM 1488 and 7474 Gosling Road, The Woodlands
  • 3101 Texas Ave., College Station

The six properties are in high-barrier-to-entry markets, and sit within thriving single-family and multifamily communities, as well as growing retail and office markets, guaranteeing a continued demand for storage space.
