Cali Investor Snags QLine Retail, Plans Renovation

Detroit native Anthony Buono, managing member of 6538 Woodward Investors LLC, acquired 6538-6540 Woodward Ave. in Detroit. Buono, who is also based in San Diego as chairman of CBRE Inc.’s global retail executive committee, is planning an overhaul of the building, which is near the QLine route, close to Grand Boulevard in Detroit.

Buono told Crain’s Detroit Business that he’s been volunteering with Midtown Detroit Inc. to connect the group with prominent retailers to hopefully bring to the area. He also indicated that his experience with CBRE could be helpful in redeveloping and marketing the New Center district. The building purchase and renovation is not related to Buono’s employment with CBRE.
