Business School Wants in at UTSA Downtown Development
The University of Texas at San Antonio’s business school is the latest wanting to be part of the institution’s downtown expansion plans. UTSA asked the Texas Legislature for $126 million to fund the College of Business’ relocation from its current site on the university’s main campus. The school also secured approval from Bexar County Commissioners to build on a county-owned property, once the university secured the funding.
If all goes according to plan, construction on the downtown campus could launch as early as 2020. The 2.6-acre site is bounded by San Pedro Creek, Nueva Street, and Dolorosa Street. The School of Business will be located between the National Security Collaboration Center and School of Data Science, which has received a $70 million commitment from University of Texas’ Board of Regents.
