Buda Bond-Funded Projects Moving Forward
Projects approved by voters for Buda,TX in 2014 will begin moving forward within the next several months. On tap are municipal and public safety facilities developments, street improvements and drainage projects.
The first two bond propositions focused on $27.8 million dedicated to construction of a municipal complex, and update of the public safety building at Main and East Loop Streets. The $21 million complex will house a library, council chambers and municipal court. Meanwhile, the Buda Police Department will move into the public safety building at a cost of $6.8 million. The goal is to have both facilities completed by spring 2018.
Proposition 3 is dedicating a little more than $12 million to street improvements, especially downtown. Proposition 4 targets the city’s drainage master plan, while Proposition 5 focuses on parks and trails.
