Brooklyn Has All the Best Neighborhoods (For Selling a Home)

It’s a great time to sell a home in many Brooklyn neighborhoods.

“Buyers in these neighborhoods faced tougher competition in 2016, a trend that will continue as large numbers of homeowners continue to seek value in neighborhoods further away from Manhattan,” said Grant Long, senior economist for StreetEasy.

The top sellers’ markets for homes $600,000-$800,000 were all neighborhoods in Brooklyn: Kensington, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. The top sellers’ markets for homes $1 million-$1.2 million include Brooklyn Heights, Clinton Hill and Downtown Brooklyn.

The only non-Brooklyn neighborhoods to make the list were Gramercy and Yorkville in Manhattan.
