Brookfield Plans 64-Story DTLA Tower
Brookfield, downtown Los Angeles’ largest office landlord, is moving into the residential development arena with plans for a 64-story tower next to its Figat7th retail center in DTLA. The proposed mixed-use development would be comprised of 781 residential condominium units, three commercial condo units, and up to 6,700 square feet of commercial space with 831 parking spaces.
Brookfield filed an application last week with L.A.’s planning department for the tower that would rise on a vacant plot of land adjacent to the retail center. The project would connect with an adjacent Figat7th plaza, where outdoor dining is envisioned. A vertical paseo will allow people to transverse between 8th and Francisco streets, as well as Figueroa and 7th streets.
The project completes a master-planned development vision that goes back more than 35 years. In addition to Figat7th, other components include 777 Tower, and Ernst & Young Plaza.
