Branch Properties to Develop 75K-SF Shopping Center in South Carolina

Atlanta-based real estate investment firm Branch Properties has acquired a nine-acre development site in Moncks Corner, S.C. The firm plans to develop a new 75,267-square-foot Publix-anchored shopping center at the site, which will be called Moncks Corner Marketplace.

Located on the corner of U.S. Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road, the center will be anchored by a 48,387-square-foot Publix supermarket. In addition, the center will consist of 26,880 square feet of retail and restaurant tenants. The population of Moncks Corner has grown by 25% in the past five years, and it remains the fourth fastest-growing town in the state of South Carolina.

“This development is a continuation of our firm’s dedication to identifying well-located sites for Publix that serve the local community,” said Jesse Shannon Chief Investment Officer at Branch. “As Moncks Corner continues to attract new residents, we believe that Moncks Corner Marketplace will become the dominant grocery, shopping and dining amenity for the town.”
