Boston Skating Club to Build $37M Facility in Norwood

The Skating Club of Boston has broken ground on a new $37 million facility in Norwood. Located at 750 University Ave., the facility is located at the former site of Lost Brook Golf Club. Construction is expected to be completed in July of 2020.

The 180,000-square-foot training facility will feature three rinks, a sports injury prevention and strength training center, club and team locker rooms, a ticket office, trophy room, library and an equipment store.

To pay for the facility, the club sold the land it owned next to the current skating facility in Brighton for $14 million, and then sold the skating facility for $26 million. The club will continue to operate out of the Brighton location until the new building is completed. J Calnan & Associates was selected to build the new Studio Troika-designed facility, with Northstar Project and Real Estate Services serving as project managers.
