Boston Approves Millennium’s $1.3B Tower Dev

New York-based Millennium Partners’ received an approval from the Boston Planning and Development Agency to construct a 690-foot office tower and a 579-foot tower atop a 65-foot Great Hall that will be connected by several stories of glass walkways. The proposed development, located on the former site of Winthrop Square Garage in Boston’s Financial District, is estimated to cost $1.3 billion.
The project is envisioned for 1.6 million square feet of mixed-use space, including 750,000 square feet of office and 500 residential units. Millennium anticipates breaking ground this year at 115 Winthrop Square.
The developer still must secure a final approval from the Massachusetts Historical Commission surrounding shadows over historic parks, as well as another city zoning approval.
