BNBuilders Completes $2 Million Remodel at UC Riverside School of Medicine

BNBuilders announced the completion of a $2 million remodel of the UC Riverside School of Medicine Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) facility. The new 1,383 square-foot interior features “highly specialized construction,” tailored to the research needs of UCR’s student and faculty programs.

The new facility reportedly boasts a number of specialized features, including an anteroom, gowning/de-gowning room, shower area, procedure rooms, an autoclave, [and] bio-safety cabinets. These facilities were designed to meet BSL-3 specifications, to ensure appropriate containment of dangerous biological agents.

“This lab will offer new opportunities for UC Riverside researchers to contribute to the worldwide knowledge of and treatments for dangerous pathogens,” said Jamie Awford, principal at BNBuilders. “We are proud to be a part of that important work.”
