Blum Arts Gallery to Open on Lower East Side
Peter Blum will open a new art gallery, Blum Arts, in September 2017 in a 7,147-square-foot space at 176 Grand St. in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
“This is an incredible full-circle story of a revered name in the art world returning to his edgy, innovative roots,” said Dennis Someck, executive managing director and principal for Lee & Associates NYC, which represented Blum in the transaction. Liff Co. represented building owner Split Rail Holdings.
Blum founded his eponymous art publishing company in 1980, and founded the first Blum Gallery in 1993. “Peter Blum is a pioneer, having been one of the first publishers of art books championing new artists,” said Someck.
