Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL Cuts Ribbon on Morgan Park Center
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) formally opened its new multipurpose center in the South Side’s Morgan Park neighborhood Monday, with a ceremony attended by Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Gov. JB Pritzker. It’s the second of BCBSIL’s Blue Door Neighborhood Centers, joining one that the healthcare organization opened last year in Pullman.
“In order to accelerate our recovery from COVID-19, we need private-sector partners to step up, work with us and invest in our communities to give residents the social and economic resources they need to rise above their circumstances,” said Lightfoot. “The new Morgan Park location does exactly that.”
Later this fall, BCBSIL will further its footprint across Chicago neighborhoods with the opening of a third BDNC in the West Side’s Little Village neighborhood. In 2021, BCBSIL is opening office space in the Mural Park development in Pilsen.
