Blighted Tundra Village to Get Second Life

Tundra Village is a San Antonio southside development originally envisioned as a four-plex townhome community. However, construction and fraud left the project uncompleted, leaving 37 buildings abandoned. In 2017, TVPA Partners acquired the buildings at 1894 SH 16 from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. And now, TVPA has unveiled new plans for the site.

TVPA has renamed the 28-acre property Palo Alto Villas, with plans to turn 136 townhomes into affordable, for-sale properties. The $30 million project is being spearheaded by project manager Craig Glendenning of TVPA Partners, and Uri Villarreal of Uriah Real Estate in San Antonio. General contractor is Pedro Rodriguez of Longhorn Tejas Properties Builders and Construction.

The group plans to rehab 15 homes at a time, then sell them for $170,000-$210,000. The first homes should be finished by the end of 2018.
