Biotech Coming to the Bronx
New development will bring biotech and life sciences companies to the Hutchinson Metro Center in the Bronx. Simone Development Cos. plans to start construction in fall 2017 on its South Campus at the Center, which will double the size of the campus to 3 million square feet, up from it current size of 1.4 million square feet at 1250 Waters Pl.
“The Bronx is poised to participate in the Biotech/Life Sciences industry since we have the location, proximity, talent, academic institutions, transportation and leadership,” said Guy Leibler, president of Simone Healthcare Development, speaking at the Bronx Tech Meetup held recently at the Metropolitan College of New York at 463 E. 149th St.
South Campus is less than a mile away from the biotech hub at South Campus at Montefiore’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
