BioMed Realty Relocates Headquarters to UTC

BioMed Realty relocated its headquarters to 49,874 square feet of space at discover@UTC in San Diego. The life science campus is comprised of four buildings with 288,000 square feet at 4570 Executive Dr.

BioMed’s Tim Schoen says, “This move demonstrates our commitment to continuing to invest in and serve the thriving San Diego life science community through all economic conditions, as the biotech industry and our innovative tenants advance the next generation of medicines and therapies.”

BioMed Realty’s new HQ deal brings the property to 94% leased following other relocations by Poseida Therapeutics, Samumed, and Human Longevity. BioMed Realty acquired the assets in phases in 2010 and 2016 and remodeled and repositioned the entire campus as a life science park in 2017 under Blackstone’s ownership.

Property amenities designed to enhance collaboration, support wellness, and provide convenience for tenants include an on-site fitness center and café, as well as a newly designed, eco-friendly parklike setting with tranquil water features, outdoor meeting spaces and a recreation/athletic field.

Dennis Kaiser is Vice President of Public Relations and Communications for Connect Creative. Dennis is a communications leader with more than 40 years of experience including as a journalist and in corporate and agency marketing communications roles. Dennis has also worked on communications and launch strategies for a number of consumer electronic, media and tech brands including SlingMedia, Channel Master, Deluxe Media Entertainment, BeIn Sports, EchoStar and Sprint. Dennis’s agency background included firms such as Off Madison Ave., Idea Hall and Macy + Associates. He has earned an outstanding reputation with organization leaders as a trusted advisor, strategic program implementer, consensus builder and exceptional collaborator. Dennis has developed and managed national communications programs for Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, both public and private. He’s successfully worked with journalists across the globe representing clients involved in major-breaking news stories, product launches, media tours, and company news announcements.
