Billion-Dollar Airport Redo Driving Developers to Lake Houston
Plans for the $4 billion renovation of George Bush Intercontinental Airport will do more than spiff up the aging airfields and terminals. It’s also attracting new developers to the Lake Houston region.
The airport is redoing four of its five terminals, which will add 120 restaurants and stores, and 2,000 new parking spaces. Additionally, five large-scale industrial projects are under development near the Humble, TX-based airport. Edge Development Partners will begin construction on the 72-acre International Tech Park Houston in early 2017.
Meanwhile, projects already underway are the 16-acre IAH Humble Business Center and 113-acre Gateway North Business Park and International Tech. Adkisson Group is the developer.
