Bill Rudin Replacing Rob Speyer as REBNY Chair

William Rudin was nominated to take over as chairman of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), succeeding Rob Speyer next year. The real estate industry group’s 150-member board of governors will vote on Rudin’s three-year term appointment next month.

Rudin is vice chairman and CEO of Rudin Management Co., and would be the first member of the Rudin family to serve as chair of the powerful NY CRE industry lobby’s 50-member executive committee. The Rudin family, whose real estate business spans five generations, controls more than 10 million square feet of property in New York City.

Speyer, who serves as president and CEO of Tishman Speyer, made the nomination along with former REBNY chairs CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Related Companies’ Stephen Ross, Jack Resnick & Sons’ Burton Resnick, Silverstein Properties’ Larry Silverstein and Tishman Speyer’s Jerry Speyer.
