Bezos Outer Space Company Pays $12M for Warehouse
Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin paid $12.4 million for a large warehouse in Kent, WA. Blue Origin is reportedly attempting to develop a reusable rocket for space tourists, and the 120,000-square-foot building at 21244 76th Ave. S. is across the street from the corporation’s headquarters. The seller was Kent 212 LLC, which owned the warehouse for 10 years.
The more than 40-year-old warehouse is situated on 6.4 acres. It is uncertain why Blue Origin wanted the warehouse, but officials indicated that the company could hire an additional 400 people this year. Blue Origin is also expanding in Florida, where it recently filed a permit to operate two orbital launch sites at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
