Best Buy Takes Down 480K-SF at The Brickyard
Best Buy Co. Inc. signed a lease for 479,310 square feet at New York-based Clarion Partners’ The Brickyard, a recently-completed 58-acre industrial development in Compton, CA. The 10-year deal with the electronics retailer brings the one-million-square-foot project to 100% occupancy. Last September, UPS leased 522,000 square feet at the project.
Best Buy will have roughly 60 workers at the facility by late summer. The distribution center will serve customers in SoCal, and is close to the Ports, so is expected to save time and money. The retailer also has a facility in Chino, CA.
The Brickyard was built on a former brick manufacturing site. Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. was a development partner on the project.
Colliers International’s Steve Bellitti represented the tenant. CBRE’s Bret Quinlan, along with attorney Ray Friedman of Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside, represented the owner.
