Bespoke Coffee Shop Brews Up Lease at Lincoln Common

A few days after announcing one new retail tenant at their forthcoming Lincoln Common project, Hines and McCaffery Interests have signed another. Philz Coffee will open its second Chicago location at the mixed-use complex now under construction in Lincoln Park.

“Philz Coffee is a company after our own heart—the products are customized and the service is best-in-class,” said McCaffery CEO Dan McFaffery. “Residents of Lincoln Common and of Lincoln Park have a lot to look forward to with the community of retailers we’re assembling at this intersection.”

The bespoke coffee shop, launched in San Francisco in 2003 and gradually making its way east, will join a tenant roster that also includes Equinox Fitness, Chicago’s only Kohler Waters & Spa, Velvet Taco and the recently-signed Athletico Physical Therapy. The Lincoln Common Philz, which will also offer an outdoor patio, is expected to open in the third quarter.
