Besco Sells Historic Katy Depot
Besco Supply sold the Katy Depot, a 23,413-square-foot former freight train depot near downtown Fort Worth. The buyer, an unnamed medical company, is planning to renovate the building at 321 E. Broadway Ave.
JLL’s Joel St. John, MAI, CCIM and Ryan Matthews represented the seller, which is a family-owned masonry and building-supply company. Todd Hubbard with NAI Robert Lynn advised the buyer. Plains Capital Bank provided acquisition financing.
Built in 1909, the Katy Depot originally served as a freight depot for the Katy Railroad, which connected Missouri, Kansas and Texas. It served as a builder’s supply house for Besco from 1996 until the company relocated to a larger facility at 3521 Hemphill St. in 2018.
