Ballard Mixed-Use Apartment Building Planned

J. Selig LLC, the real estate company of Jordan Selig, plans to build a seven-story mixed-use multifamily project in Ballard, near a planned light rail station. The nearly half-acre site at 1145 NW Market St is envisioned for a 125-unit apartment and retail project.

The development would be the first for Selig independent of her well-known Seattle developer father, Martin Selig. She acquired the 20,000-square-foot Ballard site between Northwest Market Street south and 54th Street Northwest that houses a Firestone auto repair garage last month from Morse Nielsen LLC for $7 million.

Seattle-based Mithun was selected to design the ground-up development, which is expected to reflect a modern Nordic feel. Planned retail space will be on Market and the townhouses on 54th. Construction is anticipated to commence at the end of 2021 and span 22 months.
