AT&T Relocation Means Retail Opportunity at Empire State Bldg.
AT&T has extended its store lease at the Empire State Building for 10 more years. Simultaneously, it is relocating within the iconic property at 350 Fifth Ave., offering a rare opportunity to retail tenants.
“We are enhancing the Empire State Building’s 34th Street retail experience,” said Thomas P. Durels, EVP wiith Empire State Realty Trust (ESRT), the property’s owner. “By moving AT&T’s existing store, we will make available a 2,773-square-foot retail space located adjacent to the Empire State Building Observatory Entrance, which attracts approximately four million visitors per year.
“This will be the first time in history that a retailer will have the opportunity to lease a store right next to the world-famous Empire State Building Observatory on 34th Street,” he added.
Winick Realty Group’s Steven Baker represented AT&T. Landlord representation was provided by Fred C. Posniak of ESRT, along with Cushman & Wakefield’s Joanne Podell and Mary Clayton.
