Anthem Plans 350K-SF Build-to-Suit Tech Center in Atlanta’s Tech Square

Anthem, Inc. signed an agreement with Portman Holdings to develop a 352,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility in Atlanta’s Midtown. The 21-story Anthem Technology Center is envisioned as a hub for roughly 3,000 multi-disciplinary IT professionals. Construction is planned to begin in January 2018, with an expected completion in two years.

Anthem’s Tom Miller says the ultramodern building “is designed to inspire cooperation and creativity and enable us to work smarter in an effort to transform health care through modernization, digitization, and innovation with the ultimate goal of delivering a better, more personalized experience for members of Anthem’s affiliated health plans.”

The facility at 4th and West Peachtree streets will focus on ways to enhance the consumer health care experience, help improve quality of care, and lower health care costs.

Savills Studley’s David DiPietro, Kelly Givens and Liron Nelik represented Anthem. Portman Management Company’s Travis Garland negotiated on behalf of the landlord.
