Another California Company Rolls into Hutto

AEND Industries, a manufacturer of performance polyurethane wheels for skateboards, inline skates and wheelchairs, is relocating its headquarters and operations to Hutto, TX, on Austin’s northeast side. The company, currently in Huntington Beach, CA, is building a 19,200-square-foot manufacturing facility at North Town Commons Business Park at Farm-to-Market Road 1660 North and Limmer Loop.

AEND owner Neal Piper recently told the Hutto City Council the company employs 50 and will open Jan. 1, 2019. The intent is to employ 40 workers within nine months of operation, and to hire an additional 10 employees within five years. “We’re excited to come to Texas,” Piper told the council. “It’s business-friendly here, and we’re ready for that.” Other attractive factors, he said, were lower operational costs and a lax regulation policy.

AEND is the second manufacturer to relocate from California to Hutto. JRS Co. Inc., a sign frame and holder manufacturer, launched construction on a new facility in February 2018.
