Andrew McDonald Steps into Americas Chief Executive Role at Cushman & Wakefield

Cushman & Wakefield tapped Andrew McDonald to take over the helm of the Americas for the global commercial real estate company. He will oversee the Chicago-based firm’s operations and service lines in local markets across the Americas. McDonald, who previously served as CushWake’s president of the Western U.S., was based in Downtown Los Angeles and replaces Shawn Mobley as Chief Executive.

McDonald has held several leadership roles across Cushman & Wakefield’s SoCal operations since 2001. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Americas, he led Cushman & Wakefield’s Americas West region, overseeing California, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Utah. Before that, he served as Executive Managing Director and Regional Managing Principal for Greater Los Angeles / Orange County.

McDonald began his professional career at ASIMCO, a Beijing-based private equity firm acquired by Bain Capital. In 1999, he returned to the U.S. to work at Cushman Realty Corporation, which merged with Cushman & Wakefield in 2001.

Mobley spent nine years at Cushman & Wakefield including roles as a Chicago Market leader, various regional leadership roles and most recently serving as CEO of the Americas since 2017. In a LinkedIn post Mobley wrote, “I’m stepping down from my role as CEO of the America’s to reassess and pursue the next chapter of my career. Andrew McDonald and the team will do a terrific job moving forward, and I wish them the very best.”

In a statement, Cushman & Wakefield president John Forrester says, “In his nearly 20 years at Cushman & Wakefield, Andrew has been a proven leader in our firm, and in the industry. In his latest role, as leader of our Americas West region, he very successfully directed the firm’s operations and services lines across California, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Utah. We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Shawn Mobley for his accomplishments and dedication to the firm. After many years in management positions within our firm and the industry, Shawn has decided to leave Cushman & Wakefield to pursue the next chapter of his career, and we wish him well.”
