Anchor Health Enters Atlanta Market with First MOB Investment

Anchor Health Properties and an affiliate of Morgan Stanley Real Estate acquired Oconee Health Campus, a 96,000-square-foot medical office building located in Athens, GA. The newly-built facility is anchored by Piedmont Healthcare, and functions as a regional outpatient hub for Piedmont’s operations within the Athens market.

Anchor Health Properties’ Ben Ochs says, “The acquisition of the Oconee Health Campus brings Anchor’s ownership and operations to the Atlanta metropolitan area and broader Georgia markets for the first time.”

The Oconee Health Campus provides a range of primary care and specialty services for Piedmont Healthcare, including women’s services, pediatrics, imaging, and diagnostics. Anchor and an affiliate of Morgan Stanley formed a joint venture earlier in 2018 for the purpose of investing in best-in-class, hospital-anchored medical office buildings.
