AMP&RSAND Redev Wins Best Project Renovation/Restoration Award
Casey Brown Company’s AMP&RSAND won the Best Project Renovation/Restoration in Southern California for 2019 from ENR, for the redevelopment of the former San Diego Union-Tribune Publishing Company campus in San Diego. That included an overhaul of a 1973-era five-story office tower, and a three-story printing press, into a new Class A office campus environment.
The two-office buildings total roughly 343,202 square feet and are set on 13 acres. The property was named for the ampersand character, the last figure in the typesetter’s alphabet and the last character printed when the newspaper shut its presses in 2016.
Casey Brown Company’s Casey Brown says, “We would like to thank ENR for this prestigious recognition and certainly everyone involved in the reimagination and creation of AMP&RSAND—including our entire team of designers, contractors, engineers and architects—for making the project the great success it has become.”
Cushman & Wakefield provides property management, and CBRE handles leasing.
