Amazon to Open First Colorado Facility

Amazon Inc. has announced plans to park its first Colorado facility at the Majestic Commercenter in Aurora. The 452,400-square-foot building at 19799 E. 36th Dr. is five miles south of Denver International Airport, and will be a sorting center.

The retailer signed a deal with Majestic Realty Co., the business park’s owner, just months after applying state and local taxes to purchases delivered to Colorado addresses. Amazon typically applies taxes to products being shipped to areas in which it plans to have a presence.

The property is currently under construction at the 1,500-acre business park, which is also home to hubs for FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service.
